Updates from this morning’s club meeting.
Thank you Jack for presenting an interesting demo on transferring images to wood. I have not taken the plunge but looks to be useful.

2. We collected 10 wig stands today which will be delivered this week to the Cancer Center. Our total is now 291 since December 2021. Thank you to Dick F, Rick K, Bob R and Rich E and Ron M for contributing.
3. The county fair is around the corner. A few more folks signed up today, but we need more; will have the signup sheet once again at July’s club meeting. It’s a fun time. Good opportunity to introduce our club to folks and may obtain an additional member.
We need many more tops made ahead of time. Collected 15 today. Hope to collect lots at July’s meeting. A word of caution, please test your tops before submitting. I tried all of today’s tops, several did not work well. I was able doctor most of those up a bit which helped. We’re looking to put smiles on kids faces- an easy spinner helps. In general, try to keep the center of gravity low on the top, and a relatively thin handle. Tops sizes can be big, small, medium size- it does not matter. Hardwoods work better, but most woods will do. Texturing is cool but not needed. If you leave the coloring off, the kids can color their own onsite, which adds to their delight.
I will have the stash of timber blanks donated by Tim Schnieder of 3 Brothers Bats factory at the fair. Blanks are about 2 ¾ diameter by 2 ½ high. I have close to 50+ blanks. Mostly in very hard maple, some in ash. Will have some ash squares also. Sharp tools will be helpful.
4. We appreciate the contributions to the coffee fund that ya’ll helped out with as we enjoyed our coffee; we’re close to breaking even. Thanks for the other goodies folks brought.
Finally, The Instant gallery table had delightful turnings to explore. We look forward to the photos.
