Welcome to Coulee Region Woodturners Club Website
Club Mission
Our mission is to provide education and information to those who are interested in woodturning. We define woodturning as the shaping of wood using a lathe, which results in objects and images that range from the familiar to the profound. This includes everything from decorative and functional bowls, boxes, and vessels, to furniture, architectural spindles, toys, tools, musical instruments, and sculptural objects.
Club Meets
The Coulee Region Woodturners (CRW) organization meets in Onalaska, Wisconsin, which located in the coulee region of Western Wisconsin. Onalaska overlooks Lake Onalaska, an extension of the Mississippi River. Members of the club come from Western Wisconsin, Southeast Minnesota and Northeast Iowa.
Our monthly club meetings are currently held at the Onalaska Luther High School's Woodshop. The club owns several lathes and assorted turning tools. Our meetings use AV equipment to augment the turning demonstrations. Demonstrations are conducted by local turners and other gifted turners including professionals to share their turning skills on a variety of turned objects and woodturning topics.
Sound Interesting?
Our club welcomes new members throughout the year. We ask that if you are interested that you attend a monthly meeting or 2 as our guest. Please be sure to introduce yourself to one of the members at the meeting room. Our meetings start at 9:00 AM, usually on the 3rd Saturday of each month, so please come a little earlier so we can take some time to introduce ourselves.
