Pertaining to the April 2026 Newsletter,

Interesting proposal-

"From Pam Day, here is a request we have had from Gundersen Emplify Hospice program. Our club has been asked if we could provide wooden comfort birds to the local Hospice patients provided by the Gundersen Emplify Hospice program. Comfort birds are given as a token of support and an act of kindness. The program gives out approximately 240 birds a year. These birds are not complicated turning and would mean much to hospice patients"

Not sure if Pam is suggesting another community engagement project. If so, these small birds are not complicated and require only small pieces of scrap wood. For an example, see Mike Peace's YouTube video Turn Scrap Wood into Beautiful Birds . Spray shellac is an easy to apply and safe finish.

As you know, the club currently has been making Wig Stands as an ongoing community engagement project for cancer patients since Dec 2021. My hope is this project continues as our club joins many clubs throughout the world doing the same.

As an aside, the club currently has ~30 members, so we're pretty thin on turning power.

Give Pam's idea a go....ya may get hooked😊
